Marc Bell is managing director of Marc Bell Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Boca Raton, Florida founded by Mr. Bell in 2003. Marc Bell Capital Partners invests in entertainment ventures, publishing, internet, hospitality and real estate.

Biography

Marc Bell is the Chief Executive Officer of FriendFinder Networks Inc.(NasdaqGM: FFN), a leading internet-based social networking and technology company, owner of the FriendFinder family of social networking and online personals sites in addition to the Penthouse lifestyle brand. Additionally, in November 2009 Bell co-founded ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc.[1] (NYSE: ARR), a publicly traded real estate company that invests in residential mortgage backed securities, where he serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Bell is also co-founder and general partner of Blackbeard Capital Management, LP, a long/short hedge fund focused on U.S. publicly traded equity securities. Bell is also Managing Director of Marc Bell Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Boca Raton, Florida founded by Marc Bell in 2003. Marc Bell Capital Partners invests in entertainment ventures, publishing, internet and real estate.

Prior to founding Marc Bell Capital in 2003, Mr. Bell served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Globix Corporation.[2] He founded the predecessor company for Globix as a provider of desktop publishing systems in 1989 and added complementary services over time. This group of businesses called Bell Technology Group completed an IPO on the NASDAQ in 1996. Under Mr. Bell's leadership Bell Technology Group grew rapidly into Globix, a leading provider of corporate Internet solutions, with over 1,000 employees worldwide and a Fortune 100 client list. During his career Mr. Bell has been a seed investor in several start-up entities including iFilm, Vault.com, NetSat Express, Edgar Online, Earnings.com and SpamEx. He has also overseen several large scale real estate development projects including the build out of over 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) of office space.

Bell has also been a producer of a number successful Broadway musicals and plays:[3] Jersey Boys - Tony Award Winner in 2006 for Best Musical, Rock of Ages, The Wedding Singer, The Times They Are-A Changin', August: Osage County, A Catered Affair. Bell is a winner of the American Theatre Wing's Tony Award – in 2006 for the Grammy Award winning musical Jersey Boys (Best Musical) and in 2008 for the Pulitzer Prize winning August: Osage County (Best Play).

Bell Co-Executive Produces full-length motion pictures [4] including Barry Munday, Sympathy for Delicious, Beware of the Gonzo and is Executive Producer of Hesher, starring Academy Award winner Natalie Portman.

Marc Bell is a partner in a number of restaurant and nightclub related ventures including as Bongos Cuban Café and Spin in South Florida; Munchbar and Piano Bash in Seattle; Lavo, Avenue and Artichoke Basilles in New York City.

Marc Bell is a member of the Board of Trustees of New York University, New York University School of Medicine. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Pine Crest School. Bell also was an adjunct professor at the Global Entrepreneurship Center of Florida International University, where he taught graduate courses in Entrepreneurship.

Bell runs a foundation to foster education and advance medical research. Since its inception the foundation has organized significant personal and outside donations to schools, hospitals and educational institutions. Some of the foundation’s notable programs include The Bell Scholarship, which encourages undergraduates to choose careers in public service by relieving them of their debt upon graduation.

Bell's formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Babson College and a Master of Science degree in real estate from New York University.
